La Vieille Colonie is a wonderful place to stay in the High Vosges and aims to accomodate different kinds of groups: cyclists, hikers, motorcyclists and friends, parties, a workshop or seminar.
Our venue
La Vieille Colonie has got two comfortable spacious groupaccommodations: “Le Ruisseau” on the ground floor and “La Colline” on the 2nd floor. Each group accommodation has its own entrance and can be rented separately to groups of 10-20 people. You can book additional rooms on the 1st floor (for groups of 20-40 people). The entire Gîte (accomodation) is suitable for groups of up to 60 people.

Having fun
La Vieille Colonie is surrounded by the most beautiful peaks of the Hautes Vosges: the Ballon d’Alsace (1165m) and the Rouge Gazon (1070m). Located in the valley of les Charbonniers, right on the stream which flows the mountainwater to the Moselle.
From the village of Saint Maurice sur Moselle you can discover the impressive Vosges Mountains: you can move around the radiant green surroundings by bike, on foot, or motorized. In winter you can make your way through a thick layer of snow with raquettes or skis.
When you set foot outside La Vieille Colonie you can explore and immerse yourself directly into nature: both short and longer routes start right at our doorstep, routes for the whole family or for the more practiced athlete.
We, Denise and Michel, have been living here and looking after this lovely place for a couple of years now and we would love for you to enjoy and get to know this wonderful location too! We are more than willing to help you find the most beautiful views, challenging cycling routes and hiking routes.
